Great Virginia Triangle 8 Day Tour

Day 2: 110 miles, From the Capitol City to the Beach.

Take Route 5 East out of Richmond to Williamsburg. Turn Right on SR-614 (Greensprings Road) and follow it south to Jamestown. At Jamestown, pick up the Colonial Parkway and follow it north through Williamsburg, to Yorktown. At Yorktown, pick up US-17 south to I-64 east. Follow I-64 east through Newport News and Hampton, through the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel. At the end of the bridge tunnel take the first exit and follow old US-60 to Virginia Beach.
Day 3: 205 miles, Traverse the Tidewater Region.

Take Route 60W to I64W to Route 17N. At Gloucester, take Route 14E/3N across the Rappahannock River. At Kilmarnock (Quaint shops and eateries abound in this area) take 200N, then 360E until it ends in Reedville. Enjoy dining at the Crazy Crab Marina. Meander down Route 360W to 202 to Route 3 to 205 to Colonial Beach to 218 west into Fredericksburg.
Day 4: 201 miles, Northern Foothills and Wine Country

In Fredericksburg take Route 3 to Culpepper. Visit Chancellorsville and Wilderness Historic Battlefields. Take the scenic loop at Chancellorsville to Lignum, Route 610. In Culpepper, take Route 229N to Route 211N/E to 688, a scenic byway at Hume. On Route 688 there is the Naked Mountain Winery (cross I66). From Route 688 take 17N to 50E at Gilbert's Corner. Take 15N to Leesburg. Visit Leesburg and take Route 7W into Winchester. Continue on US-11 (or I-81S if you need to make up some time) to Harrisonburg, passing Luray and Endless Caverns.
Day 5: 210 miles, Virginia/West Virginia Highlands

Take US-33 West to Franklin WV. Turn left (South) on to US-220 and follow it to Covington, VA. Along these roads you may want to stop at Monterey, Warm Springs, and Hot Springs (The Homestead Resort). At Covington take I-64 West 5 miles to Exit 10 and follow SR-159 South, to SR-311 South, to New Castle. Turn right (south) on SR-42 and follow it to US-460. Turn left (east) on to 460 and follow it into Blacksburg.
Day 6: 219 miles, The Blue Ridge Parkway

Take US-460 east 13 miles to I-81 south, to Exit 114 (SR-8) and follow SR-8 to Floyd.
Option 1: Take US-221 north 23 miles and enter the Parkway at Bent Mountain.
Option 2: Continue south on SR-8, 8 miles to the Parkway. Travel North on the Blue Ridge Parkway to its northern terminus at US-250/I-64. Take US-250 West into Waynesboro.
Day 7: 120 miles, Via: Charlottesville & Monticello

Head East on US-250 going through Rock Fish Gap. Turn Right on SR-6 and follow 6 to Scottsville. At Scottsville, turn left (north) on SR-20, 17 miles to SR-53. Stop in Mitchie Tavern (Charlottesville) for a taste of Virginia and Monticello to visit Mr. Jefferson's home. Continue east on 53, south on US-15, then east on SR-6 to Richmond.
